A short history of youtube.

Every once and a while, I get to thinking about the internet.

Not like, "Oh i'm gonna go watch a video of a baby panda sneezing" type thinking, but thinking about the ridiculous amount of information found on the internet, and how much information is added every day. Its strange to think of the internet as a physical thing.

Imagine how large the internet would be if it was a real, physical, tangible thing. But what would you measure the amount of information in?

In internets?

Well, a smaller example, and by small, I mean still really big, Youtube.

Youtube was launched in aught 4, back in the good ol' days. Its funny, when i think about it, it seems like youtube has been around all my life, and 2004 seems so recent.

This is the first youtube video:

Titled me at the zoo, and only 18 seconds long.

Nowadays, about 72 hours of video are uploaded per minute.

It just boggles my mind that all that information can be store on a seemingly endless enterprise.

The internet is a cool place.

(Except for the "Mariana Trench" of the web, where horrible creatures such as this can be found)

that is all.
